WHY should you attend?

Owners and managers are responsible for ensuring that employees receive appropriate fire safety training in order to respond effectively to a fire emergency. This seminar will improve your ability to provide essential, comprehensive fire safety training to employees in your facility. You will receive useful reference and training materials that will enable you to meet your responsibilities to comply with the Fire Code.

The Seminar includes:

• Two days of intensive instruction, interaction and workshops;
• Opportunities to meet and discuss relevant fire safety issues with fire officials;
• Opportunities to interact with peers from other care and treatment occupancies;
• Accommodation for 2 nights (dormitory style single room with shared bathroom) meals/coffee breaks each day.

Cost of the Seminar is $310.00 payable to the Minister of Finance. This fee covers tuition, meals and accommodation.  We do not accept credit card payments.

The cheque must be mailed to Registrar, Ontario Fire College, 1495 Muskoka Rd. North, Gravenhurst, ON P1P 1W5 immediately after your acceptance on the seminar.  Information about accommodation, meals, and directions to the Ontario Fire College will be forwarded to participants upon receipt of the form.

Please bring a copy of the Fire Code and the Fire Safety Plan for your building.   

Each facility should have a copy of the training package “Fire Safety Training for Employees of Care and Treatment Occupancies”.  This training package was produced by the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council in partnership with the Office of the Fire Marshal.  The package costs $169.50 and is available from the Council by calling them at 1-866-379-6668.
